IBM stock rose 1% as the technology giant’s results exceeded expectations.
Shares of ServiceNow Inc. (NOW) jumped 5% after a strong quarter in subscription sales.
Stock decliners:
Meta Platforms Inc. (META) shares fell 3% in pre-market trading after the CFO warned of slower advertising revenues in the fourth quarter. This follows the publication of third-quarter results that beat analysts’ expectations in terms of rising digital-advertising revenue.
Arista Networks Inc. (ANET) stock dropped about 6%, while Nvidia Corp. (NVDA) stock was down 2% after Meta’s lower capital-spending outlook for next year than what analysts had predicted.
Mattel Inc. (MAT) stock fell 10% despite beating analysts’ expectations in the third quarter. The company warned of slower demand during the holiday season.
Shares of Whirlpool Corp. (WHR) fell 5% in after-hours trading even though the appliances maker surpassed Wall Street’s expectations for the third quarter. Whirlpool lowered its per-share earnings guidance for the year.
Shares of Align Technology Inc. (ALGN) sunk 25% after the Invisalign orthodontics maker posted quarterly earnings that fell short of expectations.
