U.S. Futures
U.S. futures for the S&P 500 were down 0.2%, while futures for the Dow Jones Industrial Average decreased 0.1%. It is important to note that changes in futures may not necessarily be indicative of market movements after the opening bell.
European Markets
In morning trading, the Stoxx Europe 600 remained flat. Ericsson B saw a rise of 8.7%, and ams-OSRAM climbed 5%. However, Nokia slipped 9.7%, and Carl Zeiss Meditec dropped 4.5%. The FTSE 100 also experienced a decline of 0.4%. On the other hand, France’s CAC 40 gained 0.2%, and Germany’s DAX rose 0.1%.
Currency Update
The Wall Street Journal Dollar Index increased by 0.1% to reach 98.06.
Commodities
Brent crude rose by 0.9% to $78.70 a barrel, and WTI crude also climbed by 0.9% to $73.69 a barrel.
Bond Yields
The German 10-year Bund yield saw a decrease of 7 basis points to 2.293% from 2.359%, whereas the yield on the 10-year U.S. Treasury declined by 2 basis points to 4.237% from 4.259%. It is important to note that bond prices and yields typically move in opposite directions.
Asian Stocks
Stocks in Asia experienced losses, with Japan’s Nikkei 225 index declining by 1.4%. Additionally, Hong Kong’s Hang Seng fell by 1.9%, while China’s benchmark Shanghai Composite dropped by 1.7%.
