The Thai stock market experienced significant gains on Wednesday, with the composite Thailand SET Index (SET) soaring by 1.9% to reach 1,412.71.
Standout Performers
Among the top-performing companies during the session, Jasmine Tech Soln (JTS), a technology company, led the way with an impressive 10.7% jump in its stock price. Meanwhile, Master Style (MASTER), a prominent health care/life sciences firm, enjoyed a substantial gain of 9.5%. Hana Microelectronics (HANA), operating in the technology sector, secured the third position among the leaders with an 8.5% increase in share value.
Declining Stocks
Unfortunately, Advanced Info Service (ADVANC), a telecommunication services firm, experienced the largest decline, with its stock plummeting by 2.7%. Additionally, shares of Krung Thai Bank (KTB), a financial services company, saw a decline of 2.2%. Finally, SPCG PCL (SPCG) also experienced a decline, albeit a more modest one at 1.6%.

Moving beyond Thailand, other parts of Southeast Asia also witnessed positive market movements. Singapore’s FTSE Straits Times Index (STI) rose by 0.7%, while Malaysia’s FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBMKLCI) increased by 1.0%. The Philippines’ PSEi Index (PSEI) registered a 1.0% gain, and Indonesia’s JSX Composite Index (JAKIDX) recorded a 1.4% increase.
Asia-Pacific Region Snapshot
In the broader Asia-Pacific region, Hong Kong’s Hang Seng Index (HSI) experienced impressive growth of 3.9%. Japan’s NIKKEI 225 Index (NIK) also performed well, with a 2.5% increase. China’s Shanghai Composite Index (SHCOMP) saw a more modest rise of 0.5%.
South Korea’s KOSPI Composite Index (180721) demonstrated notable growth, gaining 2.2%, while Australia’s S&P/ASX 200 Benchmark Index (XJO) observed a 1.4% increase in the stock market.

In terms of currencies, the U.S. dollar (USDTHB) experienced a slight decrease of 0.1% against the Thai baht, with the exchange rate falling to 35.46 Thai baht. Similarly, the euro (EURTHB) dropped by 0.4% against the baht, reaching an exchange rate of 38.48 baht.
