Among the FTSE 100 constituents, JD Sports Fashion PLC (-5.27%) suffered the largest decline, as its shares fell significantly.
Other companies that experienced notable decreases include Airtel Africa PLC (-4.40%), Ashtead Group PLC (-4.34%), Howden Joinery Group PLC (-3.96%), and Barclays PLC (-3.34%).
Rising Stocks
On the other hand, Ocado Group PLC (+3.56%) emerged as the top gainer among the FTSE 100 constituents, as its shares rose significantly during Monday’s trading session.
GSK PLC (+3.19%), Croda International PLC (+1.65%), Smith & Nephew PLC (+1.64%), and Diageo PLC (+1.62%) also witnessed increases in their stock prices.
Currency and Commodity Market Updates
The pound exhibited some weakness, declining by 0.82% against the dollar (GBPUSD) and by 0.33% against the euro (GBPEUR).
Brent crude registered a slight increase, rallying 0.04% to $77.34 per barrel.
Additionally, the yield on the 10-year gilt experienced a modest rise of 7.550 basis points to reach 4.007% (TMBMKGB-10Y).
